Our ongoing bariatric research study aims to explore the profound impacts of bariatric surgery on patients’ overall health. Integrated with over 800 sensor devices, this study focuses on assessing various health parameters, including weight loss, physical activity levels, and vital signs. Building on existing research, such as the outcomes observed in the Swedish Obese Subjects (SOS) study and findings from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), this study is at the forefront of bariatric research.

Study Objectives

The primary objective of this research is to gather comprehensive health metrics to understand the overall effects of bariatric surgery. We aim to analyze changes in weight, physical fitness, and vital signs to provide insights into the long-term benefits and possible risks of bariatric surgery.

Eligibility Criteria

We welcome participation from North American residents who have recently undergone or are planning to undergo bariatric surgery. This ensures that our findings are relevant and applicable to the targeted population.

Study Procedure

Participants will wear a wearable device to monitor their vital signs, with an option to share data manually via the app. This approach ensures real-time monitoring and accurate data collection.

Length of Time

The study is ongoing, with participants enrolled in groups. This allows us to continuously monitor progress and changes over a substantial period, enabling a more in-depth analysis.

Participants are required to sync their wearable device with the server daily, a process that takes only a few seconds. This ensures continuity in data collection and helps maintain an uninterrupted record of changes.

Maintaining the strict confidentiality of participants’ data is our utmost priority. Information collected will be used solely for the study, with stringent measures in place to safeguard privacy.

This study offers a significant opportunity to contribute to medical science advancements and improve patient care. However, with limited slots in each group, prospective participants are encouraged to apply promptly.

Application Process

Interested individuals can apply by filling in the application form provided below.

Final Note

We urge potential participants to thoroughly understand the study’s purpose, procedures, potential risks, and benefits. Asking questions and discussing the decision with healthcare providers or others is strongly encouraged.

This detailed overview provides a comprehensive picture of our ongoing bariatric study, offering clarity on the project’s objectives, methodology, and ethical considerations. It serves as a useful guide for potential participants and stakeholders.
